Scope and Content

Notarial transumpt of a Commission of 5 May 1535 by Pope Paul III to the Abbott of Ferne and others to act as judges in a protest made by the Prior and Convent of Pluscardin against certain acknowledgements demanded of them by the Bishop of Moray, the Prior and Convent claiming exemption for the monastery with its persons, members and goods from the jurisdiction of the Bishops of Moray.
