CONVEYANCE: The document recites the will of James Thomas, late of the White Lion, deceased (see BDRMAS/2 above) whereby he bequeathed the White Lion (after the death of his wife, Mary Thomas) to his grandaughter, Elizabeth James, then Elizabeth Powell. That James Thomas died 3rd May 1875 and that the will was proved at Carmarthen Probate Registry by Elizabeth James nee Powell, the testators granddaughter and surviving executrix. That Elizabeth Powell married William James at the Carmarthen Registry Office in December 1875. That William and Elizabeth James mortgaged to Sarah Nicholas the White Lion to secure £60 and interest. That William and Elizabeth James have agreed to sell the property for £230 and that the said £60 is still due on the security of the said mortgage. Now by this indenture the said William and Elizabeth James convey to the Swansea Breweries Company Limited the White Lion Cottage, Pwlltrap, St. Clears fro £230.
