Both volumes have quarter-leather spine bindings, with marbled boards, and gilt embossed labels containing the words "Ripon Minster". In Vol.1 on the pastedown there is an armorial bookplate, and on the flyleaf the inscription "Willielmus Stubbs Ex Aede Christi, Oxonii, Haec scripsit. Iohannes Whitton Darnbrough E. Coll. Linc. Oxonii. Majorem partem tabularum delineavit. 1842. 1844". Vol.2 has printed headings to ff.1-28

The following notes are inserted: (1) "Number of Papists in Ripon Parish, 1780"; (2) a letter from Thomas Burwell to "Mr Gilbert" on the burial of Papists, Aug.16.63
