Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Certain Episcopal functions (notably performing confirmation, ordination, consecrations and the licensing of clergy and lay workers) can be delegated to suffragan bishops under section 10 of the 1978 Diocese Measure. They are issued at the consecration of a new suffragan after the appointment of a new bishop (or in York, archbishop) or after the review of arrangements for delegation.
