Scope and Content

Seven hardback books, comprising six first editions of books written by Lucy Boston and one first edition of 'Lucy Boston Remembered', written by her daughter-in-law Diana Boston. The series contains the following titles:

'The Children of Green Knowe', illustrated by Peter Boston (London: Faber and Faber, 1954). First edition. Inscribed 'To Hilary, with love from Lucy'.

'The Chimneys of Green Knowe', illustrated by Peter Boston (London: Faber and Faber, 1958). First edition. Inscribed 'To Hilary, with love from Lucy M. Boston'.

'A Stranger at Green Knowe', illustrated by Peter Boston (New York: Harcourt Brace, 1961). First American edition. Inscribed 'with love from Lucy'.

'Nothing Said', illustrated by Peter Boston (New York: Harcourt Brace, 1971). First American edition. Inscribed 'Hilary Bourne with love from Lucy M. Boston'.
