Scope and Content

Charlie Ball, seen here on the fantail stage of the Upminster mill, was the site foreman for the millwright firm of Christy and Norris, Chelmsford. They carried out work on the Upminster mill on several occasions. Christy and Norris was founded by Fell Christy in 1858
