Dr and Mrs Spiegel took him to theatre on Monday night. Reached Topeka on Tuesday morning. K. Maringes addicted to schedules and insisted on programme for every hour of day, with 4 dinner parties. As a result only vaguest idea what goes on at his hospital. Addressed seminar on Friday night. Escaped for two hours on Thursday afternoon to look at birds with Karl's brother Bill. Left Topeka this morning and stopped here for rest.
Continued an 13th April: Reached Cincinnati.
