Received her and Joy's letters. Glad they escaped thunderbolt. Details of parcel sent to Jill by Miss Hughes. Asks for details of their shoes. Overscheduled by K. Maringes at Topeka; looked after in more humane way by Mansel Levine at Cincinnati. Reached Cincinnati on Sunday overnight from Topeka. Lunched with Levine, went to zoo with his children and had dinner with his staff. Spoke at Medical Society after Karl Binger on Tuesday. Spent night at Dr Fenn's as hotel full for baseball match. Adjusting to heat but appetite still poor.
