York formulary

Scope and Content

York formulary of the 14th-15th centuries. A compilation from several volumes, chiefly formularies. It was included with Neville's register in the series of archbishops' registers as it containts a register of acts relating to Archbishop Neville's conflict with the canons of Beverley. A formulary is a form book provided a collection of models for the creation and execution of categories of document (acta).
Folios 77r-92v of the formulary include a register of the archbishop's visitation of Beverley Minster and the quarrel with the Beverley canons, March-May 1381.
