Scope and Content

Expresses his admiration of her pluck and courage and hopes she is not suffering too greatly from the treatment dealt out to her. She sends a petition which they wish to present to Mrs Pankhurst pressing for the return of Mrs Pethick Lawrence. The severance has only done harm to the Cause 'Where would the WSPU be but for the help of Mr and Mrs Pethick Lawrence, not only financially but in a greater way by their self sacrificing behaviour'. (Women's Social & Political Union). Hopes Miss Billington will help.
