Legal documents, relating to the trial of Gladys Evans, Mary Leigh, Lizzie Baker and Mabel Capper for conspiracy and assault, held at the City Commission Court in Dublin on 1 Aug 1912 and the subsequent charge brought against Mary Leigh by the City of Dublin Commission on 4 Dec 1912, later adjourned to 10 Dec 1912, for her involvement in the unlawful wounding of John Redmond M.P. including; annotated court transcript, dispositions and witness statements, describing the arson attack on the Theatre Royal, Dublin and a hatchet being thrown into the carriage of Lord Asquith on the night of 18 Jul 1912; correspondence between the Chief Crown Solicitor and Mary Leigh, concerning her upcoming court appearance and which witnesses were to be summoned; a manuscript speech written in the hand of Mary Leigh and presumably delivered by her in court; typescript extracts from newspapers reporting the trial proceedings as well as a copy of a poem about Mary Leigh written by Laurence Housman and a statement made by Bernard Shaw on her eventual release from prison.
