Scope and Content

Original watercolour and ink illustration by Harmsen van der Beek for 'Here Come's Noddy Again!' (1951), the fourth book in Enid Blyton's 'Noddy' series. The illustration shows Noddy and the farmer standing by a pool of water, watching the toy farm animals drink from the puddle with the front bumper of Noddy's car just visible in the middle of the pool. The illustration is signed in the bottom right corner 'Beek', and a line of typed text from the story has been pasted onto the page below the illustration. The page is annotated in pen 'page 29', with registration marks and additional notations for the printer. Glue stains and remnants of white paper around the illustration indicate that it was originally framed with white paper which has since been partly removed. The illustration is also annotated on the reverse 'No. 2 , page 61'.
