Scope and Content

Loose material from Colin Simms, Pine marten: seven prints, Genera, 14 ([Newcastle upon Tyne]: the author, ca. 1973), consisting of a letter to Nicholson from Simms [not signed], relating to: his work on revising his early poetry and his natural history work; the musical element of his poetry, which he feels is getting stronger as a result of lessons learnt from Basil [Bunting] and from reading Nicholson's work; and his gratitude for Nicholson's encouragement for his poetry in the past, along with encouragement received from Herbert Read, Basil Bunting, Hugh MacDiarmid, Eric Mottram, [Ezra] Pound, [Louis] Zukofsky and others.
