Landore Permanent Benefit Building Society (Landore Building Society). Established in 1874-75 as the Landore Permanent Benefit Building Society. In May 1923 the name changed to Landore Permanent Building Society before becoming the Landore Building Society in September 1928. Meetings were held at the Old Siloh Chapel Schoolroom, Landore. By 1935 the head office was at 61 Wind Street, Swansea and by the 1940s the address was given as Cornhill Chambers, Christina Street, Swansea. Landore Building Society changed its name to South West Wales in November 1963. South West Wales transferred engagements to Bristol & West in December 1977 and later converted to the public limited company Bank of Ireland in July 1997.
