This sub sub sub fonds is divided into 2 series as follows:

Orders in Council, 1828-[ongoing] [OC+ number of order]
Register of Orders in Council, containing copies of Orders in Council affecting benefices in the Province of York issued between 1838 and 1891. [OC.Reg]

Administrative / Biographical History

Orders in Council made provision for the union and disunion of benefices, the alteration of existing parochial boundaries and the creation of new parishes in accordance with the Pluralities Act 1838, and subsequent legislation.
