This class consists of manuscript material, specifically literary manuscripts and research notes, musical scores, and some miscellaneous notes on topography and local customs, which although not in Nicholson's hand he presumably collected as part of his research. The class has been divided into 3 sub-classes according to the nature of the material. Most significant is the first, which consists of literary manuscripts by Nicholson and includes some of his earliest poems, as well as early drafts of a number of well-known works, notably 'The Pot Geranium'.
