Recollections of Alfred Neild, Chairman of the Council of Owens College, Manchester, from 1822 to 1902. Entitled: Recollections of the life of Alfred Neild by himself. The recollections include information on the social, political, commercial and cultural life of Manchester in the 19th century; on the foundation and growth of Owens College; and on Nield's own religious beliefs. The original manuscript was first written in 1898 and a one page addendum was added in 1902. This is a typescript copy of both the original manuscript and the addendum, and was probably made between 1902 and 1906.
