Scope and Content

Business and private letters sent to William Neild esq. of Manchester, including one from William Ewart Gladstone, and one from Richard Cobden. The latter, four closely-written pages, dated at Salzburg, 30 September 1838, gives Cobden's impressions of his tour in Germany.

With this donation came the following printed book: Thomas Chandler Haliburton, The clockmaker; or, The sayings and doings of Samuel Slick of Slickville, 3 vols (London: R.
