Administrative / Biographical History

Trans-World Educational Services Ltd in was a distance learning company based in Jersey. It began in 1967 under the original name Jersey Correspondence College, changed in 1970 to the Anglo-Jersey Correspondence College and in 1978 to Trans-World Educational Services Ltd. It offered correspondence course to students in the UK and overseas including Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. In its later years the company been undergoing financial difficulties, some of these attributed to the high postal rates in Jersey. It was subject to a sale in 1981 and was acquired from those purchasers by ICS Ltd in 1987.
