Scope and Content

Material compiled by the donor details the life of James Stott (1845-1934) [the donor's great-grandfather], his family, their lives in Oldham and Conwy, and the family businesses. Also included are copies of love letters from Nellie Lees to Mr. Arthur Crump, who was employed by James Stott. The letters frequently mention the Stott family and provide an entertaining and valuable insight both into the life of the Stott family and also life in general for the upper middle classes in Victorian Britain.

Conwy properties owned by the family include: "Crow's Nest", "Oakwood Park Hotel" and "Pensychant".
