Anxious about her mother in the bitter cold. Now moved into lodgings with Gertrude and glad to be free of nursing homes etc. Hopes later to move nearer and see more of her friends, but still not recovered from second operation. Gertrude has not been domineering at all; perhaps frightened by 'my last affair'.
