Scope and Content

Brief typewritten memoir of the wartime experiences of J M King as a medical officer with the Royal Army Medical Corps, including his posting to 86th Field Regiment Royal Artillery in Kent and Yorkshire, his voyage from Glasgow to North Africa (August 1943) and posting to the Field Ambulance of 56th City of London Division in Italy, and to 44th Reconnaissance Regiment and finally to an animal remount depot (1945), including details of the casualties and conditions in Italy and his experiences during the attack on Casino, and his repatriation following an injury sustained from a horse.
