Scope and Content

Letter dated 2 November 1806 from James Smith in Glasgow to Alexander Smith, teacher of music, Dundee 1806. Concerns the death of his brother William while serving as a lieutenant with the 58th Regiment at the siege of a fortress in Calabria, Italy, during the Napoleonic Wars.
