Scope and Content

LETTER: Thomas Holland at Marchwiel to the /Bishop of Bangor.

He sends him an extract of his uncle Owen Lloyd's will, as far as it relates to the charity which he mentioned to him when they met at Bangor. He is well assured that the t'ment in Dutton Diffyth is worth at least £30 p.a. He was offered £24 or £26 p.a. for it by two farmers on the death of the last tenants, but meantime Mr. Dorset, the agent of Lloyd of Llanidan set it at under-rate, and he cannot learn the terms. He knows nothing of the employment of the charities for the past 16 years, and he lists the occasions on which he has been consulted. He begs that Thomas Pulford be recommended as a clergyman to the Bishop of St. Asaph to succeed Mr. Jones and gives an account of T. P.'s circumstances. The writer's wife hopes to be able to make herself known to Mrs. Sherlock during the following year when he hopes his lordship and lady will visit them.
