Benjamin Noot was born on 12 February 1894 in Swansea to parents Charles and Anne Noot. He had two sisters Mary Kezia and Gwyneth Elsie. The family lived at 26 Creswell Road, Neath. Ben worked as a Clerk for the Great Western Railway Company at Neath between 11 June 1909 and 30 January 1910. By 1911 he was a Clerk to an Insurance Broker. Ben enlisted in 1914 with the 39th Field Ambulance and by 6 July 1915 he was deployed to Egypt. He served as a Private in both the Royal Army Medical Corps and the Wiltshire Regiment. Ben Noot died on 22 October 1918.
