Scope and Content

The class comprises Letts s No. 8 Diaries (except GHR/6/1 which is a No. 11 diary) of James Hodgson, recording the details of his life in England after his return from Argentina. The diaries include detailed accounts of personal and household income and expenditure, share dealings, and trading transactions, as well as brief notes of his daily activities. All the diaries except GHR/6/1 are comprehensively indexed.

Arrangement

The diaries had become separated from the rest of the archive and were reunited in 1998.
