The association between W and R K Lee and Crossleys began in 1930 when Frank Lee joined Crossleys' Board of Directors and subsequently became Chairman. W and R K Lee were the sole suppliers of yarn to the Crossley mercerising plant. In 1936, the Lee Company was reconstituted and Crossleys obtained a controlling interest. In 1958, after the death of Frank Lee, John Crossley and Sons Limited purchased the whole of the share capital of W and R K Lee, and the name was changed to John Crossley and Sons (Croslee Yarns) Limited. The firm was later known as Croslee Yarns Limited.
