Scope and Content

The series includes notebooks of the expeditions, January-March 1932 and some papers relating to specimens collected. Original notes from the first part of the expedition (Dec 1931-March 1932) and carbon copies are included.

Administrative / Biographical History

This expedition began in January 1932. The object of this solo work was to establish if earlier work in the area could be added to and become the subject of a thesis.

Arrangement

The records had been originally re-boxed during the 1990s and all original order was lost. The series has therefore been artificially arranged into 2 sub-series to reflect the type of records retained for each expedition- those created on the expedition (notebooks) and those relating to specimens and/or created after the expedition (papers, specimen cards, maps and notes).

Access Information

The carbon copy notes from December 1931-March 1932 should be issued where ever possible.
