Historical Research material relating mainly to Great Castle House Monmouth with a small amount of material relating to the Regiment, the Corps of Royal Engineers, and Monmouth town

Prompted in part by the need to discover detailed information on the history of Great Castle House for the right of way dispute (see DGEO/4), Colonel George carried out a considerable amount of research into the history of the House and adjacent properties. In the course of this research, he compiled files of notes and correspondence and collected a number of copies and transcripts. Most relate to Great Castle House and the area immediately surrounding it in Monmouth. He also collected a small amount of historical research material relating to the Regiment, to the militia more widely, and to the Corps of Royal Engineers.
