Copies of photographs of ships, animals, harpoons, eskimos, Newfoundland Seal Hunt, Photographs used by Grampian Television Ltd and from the marketing of the film Moby Dick . Some photographs were taken by D'Arcy Thomson's assistant, Aleck Rodger, who accompanied the SS Active’s whaling expedition in 1894. Others were taken by a student of Thomson's, David Dickson, who accompanied the SS Eclipse‘s arctic expedition in 1894. The original glass negatives of these photographs are held by Perth Museum & Art Gallery, where Rodger became curator after leaving UCD in 1896
