Scope and Content

Records include: Minute books and related volumes and files of the Arbiters Committee, Values and Margins Sub-Committee and Arbitration Tribunals of the Jute Importers' Association. 1918-1969 Correspondence and papers relating to arbitration, appeals and various disputes mainly between members of the Jute Importers' Association and shipping companies. 1910-1942 Correspondence and papers relating to claims for damaged, delayed or short delivered jute cargo. 1957-1976 Arbitration papers and "Amicable settlements". 1958-1973 Correspondence and papers mainly with the Board of Trade relating to Restrictive Trade Practices Act. 1957-1971
