The Association was originally incorporated as the Association of Manufacturers and Merchants of Made-Up Textiles. The name was changed to the Made-Up Textiles Association in 1942, to The Canvas Goods and Made-Up Textiles Association in 1952 and back to The Made-Up Textiles Association in 1974.
