Scope and Content

A large notebook labelled 'Memorandums' containing a list of the persons lost in the Abermenai ferry boat disaster, 5 December 1785, copied from a list lent to J. H. Williams by Mr Thos Williams, son of Hugh Williams of Tynllwydan, the only person who escaped alive, and an extract from a letter in the Chester Chronicle, 23 December 1785, and memoranda (chiefly births, marriages and deaths largely of Anglesey and Caernarvonshire interest), 1789-1860, transcribed from newspapers and other sources by the Rev. John Hughes Williams, rector of Llangadwaladr.
A note in pencil inside the cover reads 'Began - Oct. 15 - 1832'.
