Records relating to Paul Bondy's internment, covering his arrest in London on 26 June 1940, detention at Kempton Park 26-27 June and his internment in Huyton Alien Internment Camp near Liverpool from June until December 1940. The records include correspondence between PB and his wife Charlotte Bondy (and daughter Jo Bondy) in London, which was frequent and detailed; correspondence with the British authorities and British friends concerning efforts to secure PB's release; correspondence concerning the internment of other refugees; and administrative and other ephemeral records documenting everyday life in Huyton. Sub-series PCB/4/9 contains English translations of the correspondence between PB and CB.
