Scope and Content

From Henry Anthon, refers to some Bibles which Gidney has sent to him; Anthon will be sending him some circulars about the theological seminary's library which he wants sent to the [English] bench of bishops, and if there are any left over, to give them to other members of the English clergy, especially at Oxford and Cambridge. Anthon discusses the health of his family. He also mentions the "Crawcours" , dentists who have established themselves in New York city , who have introduced a new amalgam, which the "old dentists" pronounce "humbug". Expresses his concerns about the Established Church in England, and believes should be separation of church and state, "but come what may I believe the church of England will stand". Says Episcopalian church in the US is strong, but lacks clergymen. Anthon also discusses his current workload in some detail.
