The original order of the correspondence has largely been retained - in files, arranged either by subject or correspondent. The first two series - Legal (GD014/3/1) and Trade marks and tariffs (GD014/3/2) are mostly arranged on a subject basis, while the later series - Industry (GD014/3/3) and Organisations and Individuals (GD014/3/4) - are arranged more by correspondent. Not all files have been weeded, and consequently some duplication still exists. Some loose paperwork has also been incorporated into files. Once into the 21st century, correspondence often appears in the form of printed out emails.
