Scope and Content

As early as 1791 premises were being used by Wesleyan Methodists in Banbury. A chapel was planned in 1863 and opened on 9 May 1865. Members of this congregation led the Calthorpe Street Mission, whose Hall was in use from 1904 to 1931, when it was sold.
