Records, 1787 - 1894, deposited by Mrs Owen, Trefri, Bodorgan, consisting of papers of John Hughes of Caernarfon, 1787 - 1815, including correspondence and deeds relating to Caea Coed Cowydd, Llangoed, Anglesey; correspondence relating to Miss Fanny Browne of Glangwna, Caernarfon, 1830 - 1833; medical examination certificates of John Hughes Lloyd, Llangefni, and letters of patent granted to him for an invention of improved tool machinery by power and his stone dressing machine, 1834 - 1871; photographs of Lewis William Lewis (Llew Llwyfo), [1831 - 1901]; rent receipt book for Llywenan Farm paid by Jane Owen to Eliza Lloyd, 1889 - 1894; bill of sale of shares in the Maelgwyn, built in Sunderland, paid to Robert Thomas of Cricieth, shipowner, by William Jones, Tyn y Coed, Clynnog, Caernarfonshire, farmer, 1885; miscellaneous, 1875 - 1894.

Administrative / Biographical History

Mrs Owen of Trefri, Bodorgan was born Beatrice Margaret Griffith, her father was Edward Albert Griffith farmer of Trehwfa in Cerrigceinwen at the time of her marriage to Richard Hughes Owen farmer at Bodgedwydd, Aberffraw. His father was Richard David Owen and his mother Jane Ann Hughes. Trefri was owned by John Richards Williams and his wife Eleanor Edith Jones known as Nora. She has inherited Trefri through her father John Roberts Jones who had been born at Trefri. J. R. Williams and Nora are living in Mona in Cerrigceinwen by 1937 and Richard Hughes Owen is at Trefri on the 1939 Electoral Register.
