Scope and Content

Papers collected by Labour Party Press Office worker Monica Foot. Includes various material from the press and publicity campaign ahead of the 1983 General Election and material detailing the fall-out following Labour's defeat, with references to poor use of the media and disorganisation. Scripts for speeches are present, including Neal Kinnock's 'I warn you' delivered at Bridgend on 7th June 1983, as are politician campaign trail itineraries, party political broadcast scripts etc.

Also includes material relating to the 1984 Chesterfield By-Election, and a number of publications from the Labour Party and associated groups, including the National Union of Journalists and the Arts for Labour Group.
