Scope and Content

Commonplace book containing a wide variety of poems, quotes and proverbs. These include political comment from Ruskin and Paine, extracts from the Romantic poets such as Shelley, Keats and Blake and miscellaneous poetry from the 1st and 2nd series of 'Poems of Today'. Also contains loose papers found in book which include a note from Anna Milne Mackie bequeathing Commonplace book to Iain Adamson, a poem 'The Cutty Wren', handwritten on blue paper, a poem, anonymous, on classical Greek theme, and a poem by AA Buist in Scots Magazine

Open for consultation subject to preservation requirements. Access must also conform to the restrictions of the Data Protection Act (2018), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, 2018) and any other relevant legislation or restrictions. Clinical information is closed for 100 years.
