The records in this sub-group include back copies of all issues of both The Newsletter and The Lowdown. There are also files of raw copy, although readers should be aware that some copy, notably extracts from evaluations of classes and workshops, will have been returned by the editors to its original place in the filing system. There is also a file of returned survey forms about The Lowdown, together with the analysis of the results.

Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Lowdown is North West Playwrights' bi-monthly magazine. The publication of a newsletter at bi-monthly intervals, to publicise the activities of NWP and offer a platform for the exchange of news and views was initially started by Melanie Harris. She edited eight issues of Newsletter from May 1992 to December 1993. Pressures of time obviously affected its production, and the idea was not revived until June 1995 with the first issue of The Lowdown. The magazine has had various evolutionary stages from a desktop published A4 format to its current A5 style. It continues to be produced at bi-monthly intervals for subscribers.
