Kenneth Tynan commissioned Graves to work on the script of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing' for a production by Franco Zerrirelli for the National Theatre in 1965. Graves's aim was to make the play more accessible to a contemporary audience whilst remaining faithful to Elizabethan English. The series contains Graves's emendations to the original script, the revised script, Graves's notes on the project and two items of correspondence from Kenneth Tynan.
