Scope and Content

This series consists of files of correspondence between the APG and artists, industry and commerce, government and public bodies, academic institutions and galleries, and trusts and foundations. It also includes correspondence relating to the APG's overseas activities, and APG events and symposia. A large part of the correspondence relates to proposals for, and the negotiations surrounding the placement of artists in various public and private organisations.

Arrangement

This series is split into eight sub-series which have been arranged in the following order:

1. Correspondence between the APG and artists

2. Correspondence between the APG and industry and commerce

3. Correspondence between the APG and government, public bodies and related organisations

4. Correspondence between the APG and academic institutions and galleries

5. Correspondence relating to the APG and its overseas activities

6. Correspondence between the APG and trusts and foundations

7. Correspondence relating to the APG, events and symposia

8. Files of loose correspondence

As the majority of the files within each sub series existed as as a working file, the original order of the items within each file has been preserved as much as possible.
