These minute books contain some personal information about members of the Friends, for example home addresses, so pages may be subject to restriction under the Data Protection Act.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Friends' Society was founded in 1924 under the presidency of former student Ramsay McDonald MP. It's purpose was to raise funds to assist the College with extraordinary expenditure. Membership was open to all who paid a subscription.

The Friends of Birkbeck Trust was formed on 21 April 1982.
