"Memorandum" by John Scott (1815-1905), written c.1895. Consists of genealogical notes on the family, mainly 18th-19th centuries and personal reminiscences of the writer who was brought up on a farm in Lundie, apprenticed to a draper in Dundee and emigrated to Canada, c.1836. Account gives some impression of social conditions particularly with regard to the agricultural community, the drapery business in Dundee, his voyage to Quebec and his work in general stores in Brockville and Prestcott in Upper Canada [27pp].
