Acquisition Information

The archive was deposited at the Borthwick Institute in 1995 as part of the transfer of York Health Archives to the Institute from their temporary home at Clifton Hospital.

Custodial History

The archive was deposited with York Health Archives in 1991 by Denton Hall, Burgin and Warrens, solicitors. In the 1980s the firm had acted on behalf of Sainsbury's PLC in their purchase of the site of York County Hospital.
