Records relating to the College buildings and estate

Miscellaneous documents relating to College buildings, including material relating to the commissioning and execution of building projects. There are documents relating to the renovation of the Quay St. building 1851-1853, new College buildings at Oxford Road, extensions to the Medical School, the Schorlemmer chemistry laboratory and the Whitworth Hall.

Document Book (OCA/27/8) includes Waterhouse's original ground plans for the Oxford Road buildings. OCA/7 includes documents concerning the planning and execution of the Oxford Road buildings. The minutes of Council (OCA/8/1) and House & Finance Committee (OCA/11/4) include information on major building projects. Plans of College buildings are retained by the University of Manchester Estates Directorate.
