Joyce compiled much of his research into five sequences of index cards.
Three relate to G.E. Street. PRJ/6/2 contains forensic detail on Street buildings, largely recorded during visits by Joyce and from documentary sources.
The other two sequences form the backbone of Joyce's work on a proposed Dictionary of Victorian Architects. They include detailed notes on the biography and works of many known and obscure architects, as well as draughtsmen, topographers, engravers, artists and craftsmen.
