Correspondence between Keith Tucker of Neath Antiquarian Society and Dietmar Höse of city of Dessau in Germany concerning gas trams in both communities and their history. (Dessau in Saxony-Anhalt had the first gas-driven trams, while the restored Neath gas tram housed at Cefn Coed Colliery Museum, Crynant, near Neath, is the last surviving example in the world. Researchers may wish to consult Neath Antiquarian Society’s ‘Transactions 1979’ for the articles ‘Neath Corporation Tramways 1897-1920’ and ‘Neath Trams: The Human Element, and Transactions 1995-96’ for the article ‘The Gondolas of the People: Neath Gas-Powered Trams, 1897-1920)’
