Administrative / Biographical History

The Bedford Physical Training College Students' Association (BPTCSA) was formed in 1909. The decision to form an association was made during the 'Holiday Week' of 1909. The original objects of the Association were to:

  • Form a bond of union between all students trained in the Bedford Physical Training College
  • Contribute towards the expenses of Holiday Week
  • Form a Lending Library for the use of Old Students
It became known as the Bedford College of Physical Education Old Students' Association (BCPEOSA) in 1963 and the Bedford Physical Education Old Students' Association (BPEOSA) in 1976.
